Jan. 02, 1951 - 26 year old medicine student Stuart Brown was driving through narrow streets in England when he came to the conclusion that pedestrians not paying attention to traffic were in great danger if they weren't paying attention and the driver didn't notice them in time. So he came up with the idea of cats eyes, a reflected piece put into the shoes of pedestrians that alerts drivers to their presence
