Oct. 10, 1953 - Pets Service at Worcester park, children in the parish of st. Mary the Virgin, . Eddington, Worcester park, were invited by their vicar, the reverend idwal Jones, to bring their pets to a pets service today - the commemoration of St. Francis of Assisi, The vicar decided that as the anniversary fell only occasionally on a sundae, it would be appropriate to remember st. Francis, patron saint of animals, in this way. It was the first time such a service has been held in this way. photo shows The rev.
