1954 - Lucky Laycock is Malta's New Governor Man who Raided Rommel by Submarine. With General Laycock's appointment as Malta's new Governor and Commander in chief, comes the news that he has been made a Knight Commander of St. Michael and St, George. During the war General Laycock earned the nickname of Lucky Laycock for his daring exploits. He reided Rommel's Headquarters from a sub marine, and lived for 41 days in the dessert behind the enemy lines. He takes over his new duties next month.
