Aug. 08, 1954 - The Governor of British Guiana Presents the Roberts on Constitution Commission Report to Legislative Council: Sir Alfred Savage the Governor of British Guiana in a 45 minute address presented the Robertson Constitution Commission report - during which he reiterated his confidence in the people of British Guiana. A large number of local dignitaries assembled in the Council Chamber for the report. Police patrolled the streets outside the Assembly building in case of any disturbances - but everything was calm and quiet.
