Feb. 02, 1953 - Waterloo Pier Pontoons lift in mid-air by the receding tide.. The pontoons of Waterloo Pier raised high on their mornins posts by the tide, nammed and were left in mid-ait when the water went down. A crane was used to from them. Photo shows The scene as a crane is used to free the pontoons from their high position on the Thames at Waterloo this morning
