1953 - Troops Arrive In Kenya. Ready To Combat The Mau Mau: Royal Air Force Transport Command Hestings Aircraft landed at Eastleigh Airport, Nairobi recently with men of the 38th. Brigade Headquarters Staff on board. The air lift is continuing for about a week - taking approx 200 men a day to Kenya to combat the dresded Mau Mau menace. Photo shows The first detachment seen on arrival at Eastleigh Airport. They are to travel on to their new camps at Nakuru Molo and Thompson Falls. The party was greeted with a gift of 1, 400 bottles of bear from a local brewery
