Oct. 10, 1954 - Ruler of Qatar Visits Mayor Of Westminster: The Mayor of Westminster (Cllr.J.Gordon Elsworthy, F.R.I.C.S. J.P. today received the Ruler of Qatar, Shaikh Ali bin Abdullah al-Thani, at the Westminster City Hall. The Shaikh, who is visiting this country for his health, is the Chief of one of the Trucias Coast Shieloms in the Persian Gulf. He leaves by air for Paris later today. Photo shows Shaikh Ali bin Abdullah al-Thani, seen examining Mace, which was given to the late Westminster Court of Burgsses at some time between the years 1726 and 1756, held by the Mace-bearer, Mr. John Hooper.
