Dec. 12, 1955 - Gallant British Officer buried in Nicosia. He hurled back terrorists bombs: During the night of December 17th. Liwut. L.T.I. Kelly of the Royal Artillery was guarding the Yialousa Police station with a small unit of troops when they were attacked by armed and masked terrorists. Heavy firing took place on both sides and bombs were thrown by the attackers. Lieut. Kelly picked up one grenade and threw it back - he then stopped and picked up another which he hurled back - but a terrorist opened fire and killed him. Lieut. Kelly is the son of Brigadier T.E.D.
