1957 - The Admiral Strikes A Light With The Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo Machine: Rear Admiral Tully Shelley demonstrated his Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo machine as an April Fools Day gag at a board meeting in Regent Street Yesterday. The Admiral - Managing Director of the Company of oil refinery and industrial construction engineers lit a cigarette from this wierd Heath Robinson contraption. First waters is poured into the tube - it saturates the sponge and the weight depressed it causing a lover to open a mouse-cage and a mechanical mouse speeds from it to another lever mounted with a needle to burst the toy balloon causing a weight to drop on to a pile of toy cape which explode - the dropping weight causes a sandwheel to revolve to strike the match - and at the same time lifts the cup from a box of matches - as a safety precaution. Photo shows Rear Admiral Tully Shelley gets a light form the machine - for his cigarette
