Jul. 07, 1956 - Egypt's Colonel Nasse Grabb Suez Canal. latest Challenge to the West. Colonel Nasser the Egyptian Prince Minister Country has seized the Suez Canal. This announcement was made when Nasser addressed an excited crowd of 100, 000 in income from the dam to construct the Asian Dam - for which Britain and the United States had recently refused aid. In London the grab has been called a set of expropriation - for Egypt had solemnly recognized Britain's right to retain her stake in the canal until 1968 Special Cabinet meetings are to be held in London to study the latest moves.
