May 05, 1957 - Four Thousand Troops Take part in Dunkirk Re-enaction explosion on the Beach: The historical happenings of Dunkirk in 1940 were re-enacted at Camber Sands, near Rye, Sussex, yesterday for scenes of the new Ealing Film Dunkirk four thousand troops wearing different nationality uniforms took part. Camber sends was chosen for the scenes as the original landscape at Dunkirk has been changed beyond recognition. Photo shows the realistic scene as an explosion causes troops to duck during the filming of Dunkirk on Camber sands
