May 05, 1957 - Beating The Bounds Ceremony: The ancient custom of beating the bounde of the parish of Chipping Barnet, was carried out today. It was last performed in 1933. Picture Shows: Councillor J.M. Keyworth, Chairman of the Barnet Urban District Council, climbs over a fence with the did of a ladder, in order to follow the boundary line- during today's ceremony, watched by local children armed with their Willow Wands
