Jan. 01, 1956 - British troops on guard outside Cyprus Church during wedding of Marine officer: Royal Marine Commandos armed with sten-guns patrolled around the tiny church of St. Andrews, in Kyrenia while one of their officers Lieut. Robert Forester Bennett of the 45th. Royal Marine Commando was married to Miss Patricia Halley of Dendee who is a secretary at the Police Special Branch in Nicosia. The groom is the intelligence officer of the unit that has been combing the Cyprus mountains hunting the terrorists with some measure of success. Photo shows the bride and bridegroom leaving the Church under an archway of swords after the wedding. On left is Rear Admiral P.M. Brook and his opposite number Brigadier R.W. Madoc. Next to the Rear Admiral is Lieut. Col. N.H. Tailyour R. M. D.S.O. - O/C of the 45th Royal Marine Commandos
