Nov. 11, 1957 - Transport minister inspects Double-White-Line Road: Unveils Pictoria Road Bions: Mr. Harold Watkinson the minister of Transport this morning inspected a section of the London. Portsmouth road - which is marked with single and double white lines - on the European standards 0- near Cobham. He also unveiled now pictorial road signs which illustrates to the motorist just what the lines mean.
