Sep. 19, 1957 - Avro-Vulcan Bomber Squadron of The R.A.F. Training Air-To-Air At R.A.F. Waddington. Men of No. 83. Squadron R.A.F. are being trained at R.A.F. Waddington on the largest delta aircraft in the world - the Avro Vulcan - the medium range bomber known as the flying triangle'. It is the first delta to have four jet engines - in this case the Bristol Olympus Two Spool turbo-jet. The aircraft carries a crew of five - two pilots - two navigators and an air electronics officer. The Vulcan has a wing span of 99ft. and a length of 9ft.
