Jun. 16, 1958 - Signing of the United Kingdom/Japan Atomic agreement: An agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom and Japan for co-operation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy was signed in London today. This agreement enables Japan to purchase from the United Kingdom power and research reactors together with the nuclear fuel necessary for their operation.
