Feb. 02, 1959 - Eleven Injured In Ceylon Rail Crash..To Be Investigated By Criminal Department. An official inquiry has been ordered into the train accidents which occurred only two days prior to the General Strike - scheduled as a protest against Public Security (Amendment) Bill recently adopted by Ceylon's House of Representatives. One accident occurred in the heart of mountainous tea growing region where 235, 000 tea plantation workers are due to strike - and resulted in eleven people being seriously injured.
