Dec. 12, 1957 - Party of youths and girls rescued from a pothole after fifty-six hours: A party of four youths and two girls were brought to safety yesterday after having spent 56 hours in the depths of Provedence Pot. 200ft. below the moors near the West Riding Village of Kettlewell, Yorkshire, yesterday. They were all members of the Bradford Techinical College Caving Club who set out at 2pm on Saturday last and lost their way under the ground. Two hundred and fifty firemen policemen ambulance men, local potholers and frogmen helped in the search for the missing party. Photo shows Nineteen year old Joan Smith one of the two girl members of the party is helped out of the hole after 56 hours under the ground
