May 05, 1959 - Laying up of colours of the Royal Berkshire Regiment: The Colour of the 1st. Bn. The Royal Bershire Regiment, were today laid up in the State Apartment at Windsor Castle. The Royal Bershire Regiment and the Wiltshire Regiment are to amalgamente at Albany Barracks, Newport, Isle of Wight. on June 9th, to form The Duke of Ediburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire).
