Oct. 10, 1959 - Air patrol for new London - Birmingham Motorway. : The new London - Birmingham Motorway will be the first in Britain to be regularly patrolled from the air - when it is opened next month. The Automobile Association is to provide continuous breakdown service out the motorway - including air patrols by spotter aircraft. The planes will be in constant radio contact with an A.A. office at Broughton floyover near Newport Pagnall - and the pilots will be in radio touchwith a fleet of AA patrol vehicles Photo shows Looking on the new roadway near Newpost Pagnall - as one of the Spotter aircraft comes towards the camera
