Mar. 03, 1959 - They Risked Death For Freedom: Mrs. Anne Zemanek, 24, and her husband, Zdenek, 27, who risked death to make a 15-minute flight to freedom from Czechoslovakia, pictured last night when they arrived in London. They had planned their escape for years after seeing political prisoners slaving in the uranium mines at Jachymov, where they were school teachers. Both managed to get a transfer to the spa town of Karlsbad - 15 minutes flying time from the West German border. There they joined a flying club and spent months awaiting their chance.
