Rescue and Survival School at Thorney Island, Hants. opened on November 1, 1955, trains, in three-week courses, rescue officers from R.A.F. units and squadrons throughout the service, in the latest rescue and survival techniques used on land and sea by the R.A.F. throughout the world.
