Feb. 29 British Official Photograph (Admiralty) Issued By Central office Of Information, London: Underwater T/V equipment flown from the U.K. to Malta is to be used by the Royal Navy in the identification of wreckags of the Comet aircraft on the sea bad off Elba. These pictures show the erection of the equipment in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Sea Salvor at Malta. The Camera, by Pye, enclosed in a casing devised by the Royal Naval Scientific Service and made by Ides, of Kingston, is capable of use at 1, 000 ft. Weighing 7cwt. it is lighter than the equipment used in H.M.S. Reclaim for identifying the sunken submarine H.M.S. Afray. Mr. G.G. MacNiece of the Admiralty Research Laboratory, flew to malta to supervise the installation. He is a Belfast man. Electrician's Mate J. Revie, an assistant Experimental Officer from the Admiral Research Laboratory, now doing his National Service, was also flown from the U.K. to help. He lives at Cove, Dumbartonshire. Photo shows.
