Feb. 26 WALKING DOCTOR NEARS THE END OF HIS 340 MILE JOURNEY FROM NEWCASTLE TO LONDON. Dr. STANLEY RAIMES, the 35-year-old London University mathematics lecturer, who set out on August 1st, from Newcastle to walk 340 miles to London, is nearing the end of his journey. Last night, with eight miles to go, he stayed at London. The reason for Dr. Raimes's hike is to test a pair of shoes for the Leather Institute. he was one of 400 who answered the Institute's advertisement. Dr. raimes is being paid 00 and expenses.
