1960 - American Newsboys visit Lord Mayor of London: A Party of 73 youthful American newsboys who are here on a week's visit today met the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House. The boys aged between 12 and 17, represent almost every State in America, were chosen in a Young Columbus contest from more than 300, 000 U.S. newsboys throughout the United States. The selection is based on scholarship citizenship appearance and the ability to manage successfully their newspaper round.
