Jul. 07, 1960 - Mr. Maples Approves Of Car Safety Belts: Mr. Ernest Marples, the Minister of Transport, went along to the British Standards Institution's laboratories at Hemel Hempstead, Herts yesterday, where he saw tests being carried out on car safety belts. After taking part in the tests himself, he was convinced that the belts are reliable, and urged all motorists to use them.
