1962 - Britain's V.A.3. Hovercraft to be used on World's first scheduled service.. The Vickers V.A. 3. Hoveroraft Service this summer to ply between Hoylake and Rhyl. The hovercraft has accomodation for 25 passengers. The Machine was tested yesterday at South Marston, near Swindon. Photo shows Two views of the new V.A.3. Hovercraft. Top is a view as she is towed out of its hangar for testing and bottom a stern view showing the two rudders and two propulsion engines
