Jan. 01, 1962 - Lady Godiva Rides Again Through The Streets of Coventry : Transparent nylon brief's and a net bra worn under her long tresses were all that protected 31-years-old Mrs Joyce Parker from the gaze of thousands of Beeping Toms when as Lady Godiva she rode a white horse through the streets of Coventry during the towns Carnival yesterday. Mrs Parker has one son and is the wife of ex-Squadron-Leader George Parker, who is lay director of the Christian Stewardship in the country dices. The first Lady Godiva is supposed to have ridden through the streets of Coventry unclothed to save the 11 century citizens from the heavy taxes levied by her husband, Earl Leofric. Photo Shows Joyce Parker pictured as she rode a white charger through the streets of Coventry during the Town's Carnival yesterday
