A 14th cent. old half timbered house in Exeter, Devon, has had to be moved 300 feet because it was in the middle of a new road way which is being constructed. For over a month workman have been crating the building and today it was up a slope with a 1 in 10 gradient. One of the dangers was that the three storey building would topple over and great care had to be taken, hydraulic jacks were used to keep it level. The move taken because of the protests when it was suggested that the building should be demolished, is costing about, 000. It would cost about 5, 000 to copy the Building. Tudor House is moved down Exeter Street. OPS Workmen adjust the hauling cables
