Jun. 06, 1962 - The Guardsman. Aged Nine: Nine year old Alexander Morris, son of a docker from Bootle, Lanos.m. is having the treat of his life - for he is the guest for three days of the Grenadier Guards at Caterham Barracks - as a reward for being the best marcher in a Youth Parade. Alex and his mother were met a Euston Station by Lieut. John Brown of the Grenadier Guards and after watching the Guards at St. James's Palace - be went to Caterham where he visited the paraded ground to Show the Guards how to march'.
