1962 - Press view of new 26, Storey shell centre in London.: The new 26 storey Shell Centre on London's South Bank - was open to members of the Press this morning. So far only half of the 5, 500 persons who will work in the 30, 000, 000 centre - which is Britain's largest office block - have moved in. Photo shows the typewriting Service Room. Executives just dial a number and are connected to a recording device - from which the typist just copies at her convenience. Seen at the new shell centre this morning
