Oct. 12, 1964 - Vicar Objects to Poster. The British Safety Council poster, which is to be issued to 12, 000 factories this week - has brought the comment It is endangering the morals of the nation - from the Rev. Gordon Guinnss, Vicar of St.John,s Boscombe, Hampshire. The poster shows a girl wearing nothing but sunglasses. Across the girl's picture are the words: But I always wear my eye protection'. Mr. James Tye, controller of the British Safety Council, said:'If the vicar thinks the nation's morals are in danger from a poster like this he must be out of touch with the modern world'. Photo shows The British Safety Council poster to which the Rev.Gordon Guinness objects
