Jan. 01, 1964 - More troops off to Cyprus: A further 700 troops will be flying out to Cyprus during the night, following messages from Commonwealth Secretary Mr. Duncan Sandys, who is supervising cease-fire operations on the island, to defence chiefs in London. Included in tonight's air lift, will be man of the 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment, based at Aldershot. Photo shows troops being counted and checked before leaving Aldershot today bound for Cyprus
