Aug. 08, 1964 - Minister of Agriculture in Coma after a fall. to be transferred to orthopedic hospital: Mr. Christopher Soames the Minister of Agriculture, was badly injured today in a fall from his horse on a farm at Frant, nr. Tunbridge Wells, Kent, He was taken unconscious to a Tunbridge Wells Hospital.. An X-ray showed damage to the pelvis. He is expected to be move to the Royal Orthopedic Hospital later.. Mr. Soames, who is a member of the Cabinet, is married to Sir Winston Churchill's daughter Mary. He is 43.
