Aug. 08, 1967 - The Big Dig Bank Holiday Competition for 60, 000 worth of prizes AT Camber Sands Today 100 winners of a Gillette Super Silver competition were taking part in a big Dig contest at Camber Sands, near Rye-to find 60, 000 worth of prizes, ranging from a 6, 000 silver Maserati Mistral, to a racing pigeon. Each competitor, accompanied by an assistant of their choice were issued with shovels and allocated by ballot plots to dig on the two acres of sand where the prizes had been buried last night. Each plot contained either two or three prizes. Mr Dinley, from Edinburgh races to the judges with the token he and his partner Mr L Muchan, also from Edinburgh, had dug up saying they had won an E type jaguar car
