Aug. 08, 1967 - Lord Robens offers his resignation as coal board chief but is asked to stay on.: Lord Robens offered his resignation as chairman of the National Coal Board after publication of the Aberfan tribunal's report. But Mr. Richard Marsh, Minister of Power, has asked him to stay on at least until he has steered the board through its crisis. This followed the Coal Board's five-and-a-quarter hours meeting at which they discussed the report. Photo shows Lord Robens talks to journalists after the meeting yesterday
