Aug. 08, 1963 - Boys Rescued from Pit.: Two bots from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, set out to help in the search for a four-year-old boy who was lost in some woods, and themselves became lost in a dicused mime at Alderly Edge. They were half a mile inside and hundreds of feet below ground, and their torches had run out. It was 23 hours before that two boys, David Dick, 16, and Ian Lewis, 12, were found and brought to the surface. Photo shows 12-year-old Ian Lewis isreunited with his father Gwilwyn Lewis
