Feb. 02, 1967 - LESLIE PARKES IS FREED BY THE BRITISH ARMY. Leslie Parkes was freed by the Army yesterday, after his desertion charge had been dismissed. Mr. Parkes left the guardroom at the Army's Blackdown Camp in Surrey, where he had been held since his arrest six days before in Stoke-on-Trent on the Army's charge that he was a deserter under a nine-year engagement.
