May 05, 1966 - Tattered Remains Of A Union Jack Removed From Above The Houses Of Parliament: 60-year old steeplejack, Mr. Larkins, with two assistants, yesterday morning had the task of removing the tattered remains of a Union Jack from the 72ft. flagpole above the 320ft. Victoria Tower of the House of Lords. On Tuesday, the flag had become entangled with the crown during the lowering ceremony.
