Apr. 12, 1966 - More Parliamentary Pigeons Lose Their Skats.: A soft, plastic jelly-like bird repellent called Scarecrow strip, was yesterday applied to the 380 ft. Victoria Tower and Sovereign's Entrance of the Houses of Parliament, to unseat the local pigeons. The treatment, being carried out Renokil Laboratories Ltd, will take a week and a total of 1, 200 yards of the material, using caulking guns, will be laid from the 100ft. turntable ladder of the company's own fire engine. Scarecrow Strip does not harm the birds, but yields under their feet, making them seek a firmer perch elsewhere.
