1968 - Spitfires and Hurricanes are Assembled at R.A.F Henlow for the film The Battle of Britain': There were approximately 24 Spitfires and Hurricanes assembled at R.A.F. Henlew, Bedfershire, today, ready to do battle against the Messeschmitts and Heinkels when filming resumes on the epic screen version of The Battle of Britain next week. Over the past few weeks filming has been underway in Spain on the German viewpoint of the Battle of Britain, involving Heinkels and Me 109's. Producer Harry Saltzman, Co-Producer Benjamin Fisz and Group-Captain Hamish Mahaddie, have been three years gathering the aircraft for director Guy Hamilton's Panavisien cameras.
