Feb. 02, 1968 - SIX PRETTY GIRLS BRIGHTEN A DISMAL MONDAY MORNING 22-year-old PAULINE STEPHENSON has really started something at the THERMOS factory in Brentwood, Essex, with her ideas on what an efficient secretary should wear at the office these days. Last week, PAULINE arrived for work dressed in her own creation - Union Jack slacks. Heads turned and it wasn't long before it reached the ears of the Managing Director, MR. TERENCE MCCARTHY, who was so impressed that he asked her to make five mini Union Jack dresses for the rest of the younger secretarial staff. The six girls made a colourful scene as they arrived for work in their new outfits this morning. PHOTO SHOWS:- Five of the girls wearing their Union Jack mini-dresses are seen parading in Brentwood today with their huge I'M BACKING BRITAIN symbol in the form of a giant Union Jack motif vacuum flask
