Aug. 14, 1968 - Major emergency exercise in the city of London presumes that a large jet has crashed in a building.: The Emergency Services in the City of London went into action this afternoon. It is assumed that: A large Jet airliner with 34 passengers and crew on board having taken off from Heathrow has crashed into the 32nd and 33rd floors of Britannic House, Moor Lane. All the staff of British Petroleum, who own the buildings, were evacuates - except for a few to carry on essential company business'. In the mock crash it is presumed that 4 people have been killed and 30 injured; in addition there have been casualties amoung the staff of the B.P. The exercise is called Sea Eight and the reason that the Britannic House was chosen is because it is at the present the tallest building in the city of London (395 feet). To date no aircraft has crashed in this denseley populated area, but with aircraft has crashed in this densely populated area, but with aircraft crossing London at the rate of 60 an hour this disasteris now a p bitily.
