Jul. 07, 1967 - A Morning-After Shave For The M.P. Who Won His Year-Long Battle To Reform Britain's Abortion Law: Mr. David Steel, the 29-year-old Liberal M.P. for Roxburgh, Selkirk and Peebles, yesterday won his year-long battle to reform Britain's abortion law. He had not slept for nearly 40 hours and other M.P.s crowded into his room at Westminster to congratulate him on the passing of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Bill, after an all-night sitting in the House of Commons. The Bill was passed by a majority of 84. Photo shows Mr. David Steel phones the victory news to his wife Judith as he takes in a shave after the all-night sitting in the House of Commons yesterday
