May 05, 1970 - Bachelor Peter Lloyd Jeffcock and his family of twelve attend reception for publication of his biography: Mr. Lloyd Jeffcock, the only bachelor ever to successfully and legally foster a family of twelve children, six boys and six girls, today attended a press reception with his family at the Waldorf Hotel, London, on the occasion of the publicatin of his biography Only Uncle'. Peter Lloyd Jeffcock, public schoolboy, war-time R.A.F. officer, ex-estate manager, dreamed of giving a home, in the fullest sense of the word, to deprived children. Single-handed, he brought up a family of twelve; Six boys and six girls shopping and cooking for them, doing the house work, making the girl's clothes, sending them to school, and facing the problems beset any family. With the children growing older and settling into lives of their own, some of them married, Mr. Lloyd-Jeffcock felt the publication of his story would provide added incentive to both the public and the authorities to find new homes for the many children in need.
