1970 - Irish sit in at the Irish Embassy: Police were called today when ten-strong party belonging to Clann na Heireann, the Irish Republic Movement, barricaded themselves in the library of the Irish Embassy in Grosvenor Place, London, today. The sit-in was in protest against alleged collaboration between the Irish and British Governments in recent prosecutions.
