Feb. 02, 1970 - 11 court demo students freed. The 11 welsh students jailed for three months for last Wednesday's high court demo were freed today. Instead, the court of appeal bound them over to the of good behavior and to keep the peace for twelve months. But lord Denning, master of the rolls, presiding, held that Mr. Justice Lawton did have the power to summarily commit them to prison. lord denning said: The law has berm vindicated by the course which the judge took.
