Mar. 02, 1970 - March 2nd, 1970 A one hour, 35 minutes, 40 seconds kiss in aid of charity About 20 couples of Woolwich Polytechnic took part in a kiss-in, at the shop of Garret's Powis Street, Woolwich, to establish a world record, where none exists, and find out how long clinched couples can maintain a kiss. The event was one of several sponsored by Woolwich during a rag week. The rag, which started on Friday, is a benefit for the Albany dockside Deptford, the Help the Aged Fund, and St. Nicholas Hospital in Plumstead. Winners of the event were students Jenny Winmill, 19, of North Staffs, and David Atkinson, 20, of Leicester, who maintained a kiss for 1 hr. 35 mins. 40 sec.
