Dec. 12, 1970 - Villager in uproar after their tiny Hamlet of Cublington is recommended as part of London's new airport: Villagers in North Buckinghamshire are determined to fight to the last the Roskill Commission's recommendation that London's third airport should be built at Cublington. they say they till lie down in front of bulldozers and earth-movers in defence of their homes. under the plan - which must be ratified by the Government before it becomes final the tiny hamlet of Cublington would disappear and the villages of Wing, Stawkley, Aston Abbots, and about 5, 000 people will lose their homes. More than 160 M.P.'s signed a Common's motion demanding that Foulness or any other coastal site should be developed instead.
