Oct. 10, 1971 - Britain's First Pizza Race Held For Charity: Britain's first pizza race was held today in South Kensington. It has been organised by the Pizza Resistance, a new Pizza/hamburger restaurant, to help raise money for the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea's children playground appeal fund. The organisers planned to give1 to every person entering the race and they hope to raise at least50 for the fund. Hot-panted dolly birds were used to persuade member of the public to take part in the race.
